Krista Tingley

Krista was born and raised in Abbotsford B.C and has grown up dancing in the lower mainland area.  She began her dance training at the age of 8 in ballet and went on to learn many different styles of dance including modern, jazz, lyrical hip hop, tap, musical theatre and contemporary. During her early years she participated and performed in many different community events. She is still a strong believer that being involved in the community is important for kids and adults of all ages. Community brings connection and this is what our children and the future generations need. Krista has attended various auditions, master classes dance conventions & teacher conventions, all taught by well-known choreographers throughout Canada and the United States. She is a firm believer that you are never done learning and continuing education is what makes us better teachers.

During her high school years, she was a part of the dance team and captain of the cheerleading team at Yale Secondary School from 2004-2006. Krista has also been examined in R.A.D ballet and I.S.T.D ballet.

After graduating from high school, Krista studied Psychology and Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley. At this time she started teaching at various dance studios between Chilliwack and Vancouver B.C. She relocated to Edmonton in 2012 where she taught at various Dance studios for three years and expanded her training. Now that Krista is back at home here in beautiful British Columbia she has shared her knowledge with many students. She has become a successful choreographer and dance instructor over her years of teaching.

Krista’s accreditations include:

  • CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) with the Royal Academy of Dance
  • Progressive Ballet Technique
  • Acrobatic Arts Teacher’s Certification Module 1
  • Acrobatic Arts Teacher Certification Module 2

Krista continues to train and take workshops all over Canada and the United States to further her education for her students. She has had over 10 years of teaching experience in many different styles, ages and levels of dance. She has a passion for teaching and hopes she will inspire her students to have a love for dance.

It has been Krista’s dream since she was a teenager to direct a dance studio. She wants a place where people of all ages can call home. Krista has worked very hard this past decade to pursue her dream and can’t believe it’s finally coming true. Everyone on this earth has a purpose and hers is to change the lives of these dancers and future dancers that walk through our doors. Krista cannot wait to start this amazing journey and build a legacy.
